“The Corridor Development Initiative provides a great education to community members, makes visions more concrete, increases comfort with housing options and provides a venue for community members to work together to identify their goals.”

We help citizens like you keep your neighborhoods great!

Help plan the developments that will make your neighborhood a great neighborhood.

The Corridor Development Initiative program ensures that neighborhood groups play a proactive role in the development planning process. If you’ve ever struggled to work with city officials and developers about a proposed redevelopment project, you know there has to be a better way! Good news, there is a better way.

In the seven years since we were founded, 19 communities in the Twin Cities area have participated in a better way of making decisions about redevelopment projects in their communities. Our successful work with them has been based on consensus, engagement, and examining multiple possibilities.

The heart of the initiative is a series of community -based workshops that strengthen the design and development literacy of stakeholders. Our team of facilitators and design and development experts offer a neutral setting in these workshops because the team is not invested in any specific outcome.

The result is a learning moment, the opportunity for participants to make new connections among design, use, and market realities.
